Longview Regional Medical center will present to the community its first completed phase of their ongoing expansion with a formal expansion reveal ceremony set for Tuesday, September 10 at 10 am. The reveal ceremony is open to the public and guests will be able to take a tour of the hospitals new expanded areas.
These include a new 4th Floor, 24-bed Intensive Care Unit, 3rd Floor Women’s Services wing along with a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and 2nd Floor Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Current design supports a 230-bed hospital with all acute care private rooms, and a new three story vertical tower as well as a vertical expansion of the existing tower creating a new third and fourth floor. Once completed, this expansion will nearly double the size of Longview Regional.
Features of the Hospital Expansion Include:
• Doubling of surgery operating rooms from 8 to 16
• Doubling of intensive care unit beds from 12 to 24
• More than doubling labor delivery and postpartum beds from 15 to 43
• New neonatal intensive care unit with 21 beds
• New oncology unit with 8 beds

• New medical office building for physicians in 2014
“This will be the last opportunity for the community to view the new hospital before we open our doors on Saturday, September 14,” said Jim Kendrick, Longview Regional CEO. “During the ceremony, members of the community will see firsthand why we are all so excited. They’ll be able to see Longview Regional’s new innovative patient- centered design, advanced technology, beautiful architecture, and healing environment.”
The reveal ceremony will include a formal ribbon cutting featuring key dignitaries from the community as well as Representative Dan Branch of District 108 in Dallas. This event is free to the public and RSVPs are encouraged by contacting 903-553-7402.
Expansion Reveal Ceremony to be held in the new parking lot area located outside of Human Resources and Administration. Volunteer guides will be available to assist you to the reveal location from inside the hospital. Parking is available in front of the ER and can be accessed from Medical Circle Drive off of Fourth Street.
